Why we are calling

We are looking for stories that are real and authentic – from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Whether it’s a quick anecdote, a short personal story or a more detailed reflection on life, we want to hear about your unique experiences. You don’t need to be a writer or have a polished story – just speak from the gut.

What matters to us is the truth of your experiences, no matter how small or personal they may seem. Your everyday stories can inspire, connect and resonate with others in ways you might not expect.

So if you’ve got something to share, pick up the phone and dial in. We’re listening.

You can also email use directly at idletalkpaper@gmail.com or use our story submission portal.

How your stories are protected and used

At Idle Talk, we are dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone to share their personal stories. Your privacy is a top priority. When you submit a story by phone, your call is recorded and saved securely as an MP3 file in our encrypted database. This ensures that your story is protected throughout the process. We transcribe these recordings into text, and only the written version is used in our publications – never the audio itself.

You have full control over what details you share. You can choose to provide just your first name or age, or remain completely anonymous. Full names are never used to protect your privacy. We review each submission carefully, and stories that don’t make it to publication are either securely archived or deleted.

If you wish to share a longer story, you can write to us as our phone line is designed for shorter anecdotes.

To ensure your safety, we have strong community guidelines. All submissions are reviewed by trained editors to guarantee that they align with our values of respect and inclusivity. Offensive language or content promoting hate or discrimination is not tolerated.

We want to foster an open and respectful dialogue with our audience, so we welcome feedback to keep improving.
